Online Counselling Guidelines

Online counselling may be more accessible to some people and recent studies have found online counselling to be as effective as in-person counselling. Due to the nature of online counselling and to make sure that your session remains safe and confidential, the following needs to be considered:

  • You need to have a quiet and safe place from which to login.
  • It is important that you will not be disturbed during a session.
  • Reliable broadband speed is essential to ensure video quality.
  • It is best to use a laptop, desktop or tablet for online counselling. Mobile phone screens tend to be too small for a satisfactory experience.
  • Please make sure that your device is plugged in or sufficiently charged to last for a 1 hour video call.
  • Please note that recording audio or video from a session is not permitted.
